Ross Gordon

Chief Executive Officer

Ross Gordon joined Xploration Health as Chief Executive Officer when the company was founded in 2020.

Prior to joining Xploration Health, Ross spent 20+ years in healthcare investment banking, corporate development and corporate private equity. Most recently, Ross co-led Lincoln International’s medical device investment banking practice, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, where he provided strategic advisory services to private equity firms, privately held companies and large corporate clients in the healthcare industry.

Prior to joining Lincoln International, Ross was a Vice President in the healthcare investment banking practice of GCA Savvian Advisors. Previously, Ross was a Director of Strategy at American Express, where he focused on corporate partnerships, acquisitions and divestitures. Before that, he was with the private equity units of American Express and General Electric. Ross began his career as a healthcare investment banker at Vector Securities and Vector’s successor, Prudential Securities.

Ross earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Sharmila Anandasabapathy M.D., AGAF, FASGE

Founder, Inventor, and Chief Medical Officer

Professor of Medicine in Gastroenterology | Director, Baylor Global Health | Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering, Rice University

Sharmila Anandasabapathy, M.D. is a Professor of Medicine in Gastroenterology, and Vice President at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. She is also the inventor of the Smart Pod and current CMO for Xploration Health. In addition to her Baylor appointment, Dr. Anandasabapathy is an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Rice University in Houston. She holds a B.A. in English literature from Yale University and an M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Anandasabapathy trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center, NY. Prior to her position at Baylor, she was Chief of Endoscopy at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Anandasabapathy’s research focus involves the development and validation of novel technologies for the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal cancer. She holds multiple NIH grants and has led multiple international trials focused on the endoscopic diagnosis of esophageal, and gastric cancer. Her team is involved in several projects which seek to develop innovative technological approaches to addressing cancer and other chronic diseases in low-resource areas worldwide. These involve the development of remote medical technologies such as augmented and virtual reality-based platforms for surgical or endoscopic training, cell phone apps, and portable, battery-operated technologies for medical management in low-resource environments.

In addition to being recognized multiple years in a row as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and Super Doctor, she has been a featured USAID female innovator (for the Smart Pod) and a 2017 Texas Executive Women ‘Woman on the Move’ award recipient.
